The Toesox Fall 2018 shoot goes into the record book of one of my all time favorites. When the stars align and everything falls into place. When the images come back and you barely have to do any post work because the light, the movement, the styling and physical expression all align.

Shot on location in downtown LA with three of my favorite model/muses! Alyssa Hustedt, Koya Webb and Cat Bradshaw shot by Paul Schefz. These girls can move and make everything beautiful and easy. Whenever I cast for a shoot I look for vibrancy and strength. With the right light/makeup/styling, anyone can look pretty, but what sets you apart? And the photographer, technically it has to be there, but wow, if your fun, friendly and make us all laugh then all I can say is thank you, Paul!!!

Alyssa was a classically trained ballerina. She lifts her arm up or points her toe and it’s art. She can’t help it, she just moves that way. She also can’t stop laughing when you tell her to look serious so we get most of our best shots with her by telling her to smolder.

A rare moment of rest. Usually, we make Alyssa jump for hours…

Koya is a Leo through and through, she saunters into a space glowing and you turn your head to her like a sunflower faces the sun. She is power and grace effortlessly switching from perfectly aligned yoga poses to high jump shots (no trampoline needed). She also comes camera ready with a killer sense of style – there hasn’t been a shoot yet where we haven’t poached something off her for a shot (look closely and check out those earrings!!).

Strength + grace. Koya makes it all look deceptively easy…

Cat is serene, calm and lovely – until the camera starts clicking. Then she is all focus, action and cross fit bad ass-ness (word?) with deliberate, precise alignment in her movements. She knows her angles, her strengths and how to connect with the photographer to get her best shot. She is a true pro.

Focus and perfect alignment every time…Cat

Annnd, Cat also introduced me to Paul our ridiculously talented photographer. Images will say more than words ever could…see for your self how good he is and why I loved this shoot!
